I have decided to work on Peter Pan & Wendy as a story to retell using the Explode/Radial and perhaps Networks; structure from Meander, Spiral and Explode.
Initial Concept
I expanded the initial intent of 8 cards to 12, to push forward the theme of time. Not only is the Westminster Clock Tower a popular symbol of the story, but also represents time and each card or memory is tied to it. However, the memories cycling counterclockwise because this is a look back at Wendy’s adventures.
The clock at the center also represent the TRAUMA of TIME pressuring the loss of childhood; to cause the runaway from home and adulthood.
One added element to the vision is inspired by the practice of telling a meaningful story through a single phrase. This message lies around the piece “A girl lost in flight years for her happy thought.” Each card is a memory Wendy had of her adventure, but as the viewer approaches the memory it always melts away to be her happiest thought of her Mother. Her mother is what drives her to say goodbye to Neverland and decide to be an adult.

Pieces of the puzzle. Sound element is a recording of the Westminster Clock Tower bells (Big Ben).
